About

Barbara missed the water ice from home.

So she opened a shop.

Barbara Zirilli-Lonergan grew up in South Philly and moved to Cape Coral in 2008. Nobody here made the water ice she grew up on. She and her husband Matthew took a seminar on Italian ice and ice cream, signed a lease, and opened the doors.

It is still a family shop. Reviewers say the owners are always working, and that the resin tables and the graffiti wall were made by the owner himself.

Homemade hard scoop ice cream. Homemade waffle cones as well which smell amazing as soon as you walk in. Owner was there and very friendly. Ice cream is full of flavor and delicious. So many great flavors. Went twice and had a great experience both times.

Wonderful service and even better sweet treats! We were visiting the area from Iowa and came to Zirilli’s multiple times it was so good! … The gentleman even made sure our goodies were covered and secure since we ordered to go! 10/10! We will be back!

FAQ

What are your hours?

Tuesday to Sunday, 1 PM to 9 PM. Closed Mondays.

What is a Gelati?

Italian ice and ice cream layered in one cup, with a pretzel stick for a salty crunch. It is not gelato. Try the builder above.

Do you have vegan or dairy-free options?

Yes. Many Italian ices are dairy-free, and there is a coconut-based vegan ice cream. Cream ices and regular ice cream contain dairy. For allergies, ask at the window.

Is every flavor always available?

No. Flavors rotate and not all are available at all times. Call or text us before a special trip.

Where exactly are you?

814 SW Pine Island Rd, Unit 308, Cape Coral, FL 33991, in the plaza. Look for the pink and waffle-cone window with our logo.

Can I order to go?

Yes. Ask at the window. For anything bigger, call or text first so we can tell you what is possible.

What else is on the menu besides ice?

Milkshakes, malts, sundaes, caramel apples, chocolate-covered s’mores and other frozen desserts.

A Gelati is Italian ice and ice cream layered in the same cup. Fruity and creamy, cold and sweet, in alternating layers.

It comes with a pretzel stick. The salt and crunch against the sweet is the whole point, so do not skip it.

Flavor pairs change with what is in the case. One customer review mentions a peanut butter crunch Gelati and a peppermint bark and mint chip one. Ask what is on today.

Many of the Italian ices are dairy-free. Lemon, cherry, mango and blue raspberry are on the board.

For something creamy without dairy, there is a coconut-based vegan ice cream, in flavors like chocolate coconut, mocha coconut and key lime coconut.

Cream ices and the regular ice cream do contain dairy. If you have an allergy, tell us at the window and we will point you to the right tub.
